Halloween DIY: Skull Cutout Tee

Written by Tori - Texas Christian University

Every Halloween, I always want to dress up without “dressing up”, especially since I’m usually out doing things where being in costume would not be appropriate.
In an effort to recycle another old t-shirt into something new (see past tutorials on making an inverted dye tee shirt, painted galaxy tee, and screen print college tee), I decided to make a skull cutout tee shirt. This is any easy way to turn an old t-shirt into something that is

Doutzen Kroes & diamonds equals Grace Kelly

When she’s not in a bikini baring rock hard abs for Victoria’s Secret, Doutzen Kroes can have all the softness of melted butter. Nina Jarebrink channels the femme fatale for fall

The more I know of love, the less I know… purrs Kitty Collins, played by Ava Gardner, in the 1946 film The Killers. That moment, and that seminal character of the femme fatale, were central to Nina Jarebrink’s dramatic fall 2012 collection.

Custom suit lining: any picture you want inside your jacket

What is it about beautiful, printed lining that makes such a difference to our love of a jacket? You might say it’s the very fact that it’s not meant to be seen, that it’s like a little secret to be kept to yourself; or that it shows that no detail is left unattended, and that everyone else gets a hint of that fact when a sleeve gets rolled back or when you reach for your inside pocket.

Obsession and fixation: weekend watch

“Idée Fixe” is a wickedly sexy short film directed by Marcin Karski. The title translates to obsession and its a fitting one; the video enticing the viewer to be drawn into a fixation, an intensity, an obsession.

The haunting music, the lighting and the endless teasing of the model will keep you at the edge of your seat. The film is cleverly edited as it builds anticipation to showing some skin and then it suddenly cuts or blurs to another angle. There is actually just a little bit

The modern day Juliet wears noserings and floral underwear

Wildfox view the ’90s as a kind of magic decade – or at least they pull the magic out of the best parts of it when they design their collections. Romeo + Juliet, the DiCaprio + Danes version of ’96, regularly tops the list of the brand’s inspirations (the Wildfox fall 2012 campaign included).
So what does their modern-day Juliet wear underneath her Wildfox fall collection clothing? Wildfox White Label intimates, naturally. The intimates look book “was inspired by Juliet’s bedroom

How to: the messy half-up pompadour

High neck blouses, brocade and nipped waist dresses were the focus in Karen Walker’s fall 2012 collection. Weekend beauty: Kaye Waterhouse by Josie Withers

There are lingerie shoots that play to the boudoir side of the equation, and then there are those that capture a different kind of intimacy. The latter are often set in solitude, portraits of beauty that require no-one else’s approval or presence, just the comfort and confidence of being in one’s own skin.
This shoot by Josie Withers (josiewithersphotography.com) is one of that variety. Model Kaye Waterhouse wears a range of beautiful lingerie pieces from My Lingerie Addiction, styled by

And so Fashionising.com was born as a publication for those who were focussed not just on fashion's trends, but on society's too, and how those trends could all go to heighten the art of

The sensuality of white

For some photographers, the true stying and concept isn’t dependent on what’s put on the model – it’s dependent on what’s brought out of her. The clothing can take a back seat to something that comes entirely from within.
The team behind 35mm fashion photography (http://35mmfashionphotography.com/) are one of those rare examples. They have a way of creating a mood that doesn’t rely on garments alone. In this shoot the concept is elegantly simple: angelic white pieces made from

Thank the killer heels

It’s the accessories that count in a look like this one. The killer heels. The double brass cuff visible beneath a sheer-sleeved top. The chunky knit scarf keeping it all at once cosy and effortless.

Review: Groom Philly, the Philadelphia man’s best kept secret

A quality haircut is one of the best investments that the male fashioniser can make. If one takes the time to consider it, the amount of pressure to have a great haircut is astronomical: it has to complement every outfit, encapsulate your very complicated personality, and even make you look good when you’re not wearing anything else! That can be a rather hefty order to fill. Correspondingly, it is of the utmost importance to find a barber who truly understands that pressure and can deliver a
