Court stays Subhash Ghai’s Haryana land deal
The Punjab and Haryana High Court Tuesday stayed Bollywood filmmaker Subhash Ghai’s Mukta Arts from performing any activity on a 20-acre plot purchased from a gram panchayat in Haryana, a lawyer said.Ghai planned to set up a film institute on the land bought in October 2010 in Badhsa village in Jhajjar district, some 25 km from here. Hearing a plea filed by Nafe Singh and others from the village, Acting Chief Justice M.M. Kumar ordered status quo on the land and the execution of the sale deed
