Ghai gets Rs79-crore rent notice over Goregaon land

The state government has possessed 14.5 acres of vacant land around Whistling Woods International and has sent a rent demand notice of Rs79 crore to the stakeholders of the film institute. According to the Supreme Court order, rent will be charged from the date thejoint venture was signed between filmmaker Subhash Ghai and the Maharashtra government (in October, 2000) till April 20, 2012 (when the demarcation of the land was completed).
